Ethos
The school's ethos, inspired by the vision of Saint Claudine Thévenet and the Le Chéile Schools Trust, promotes holistic education, personal growth, excellence, responsibility, and respect within a caring and just community. Rooted in the Gospel values of Jesus Christ and the Le Chéile Charter, the school embraces its religious and cultural heritage while fostering an inclusive, welcoming environment where diversity, equality, and mutual learning are valued.
While our campus and facilities have evolved over the decades, our mission has remained unchanged: to provide an education that nurtures the whole person and prepares each student to thrive in an ever-changing world.
History
Le Chéile Schools Trust
Established in 2008, the trust is the patron of 54 voluntary secondary schools, 13 community schools, and trustee of 12 primary schools. Formed by sixteen Catholic religious congregations, it supports and promotes the Catholic ethos of its schools while respecting inclusion and diversity, particularly in multi-denominational settings.
The Trust's role includes:
Inspirational: Safeguarding and promoting the school's Catholic ethos, guided by the Le Chéile Charter and the founding congregations' values.
Legal and Administrative: Overseeing school property, assets, and financial governance.
Le Chéile aims to foster education rooted in care, respect, community, inclusion, equality, justice, and fairness, while supporting the ongoing development of Catholic education. Its core values are captured in three guiding principles: Welcome, Wisdom, and Witness.
